FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS:
BOOKING THE CRUISE:
I have a local travel agent I'd like to use - is that OK?
To be part of our group and attend the classes and dances, you must book through Sundancer Cruises who is a
travel agent. Sundancer Cruises has setup the group with the CCL, arranged all the activities, and is handling all
concerns in booking the group. You can have your travel agent contact Cathy Diegel Paxton at
info@SundancerCruises.net for questions. Or call Cathy Diegel Paxton at 303-250-7344 in Colorado or toll free
at 866-409-SAIL (7245), or visit our website at www.SundancerCruises.net
CAN OTHER PASSENGERS JOIN OUR GROUP?
The CCL treats our Dances & Workshops as "Private Parties". ONLY passengers with our group, booked
through Sundancer Cruises will be permitted into the dances or workshops. There will be special badges issued
to our group at the Welcome Aboard party.
However, if you have family or friends that are non-dancers, Sundancer will book them at a $50 per person
discount and they will be seated with us for dining purposes, but will not be issued the name badge or activities
schedule.
I WOULD LIKE TO SAVE MONEY AND SHARE A CABIN – CAN YOU HELP ME FIND A ROOMMATE?
Yes! Call Sundancer Cruises, book your cruise “double occupancy”, and give us you roommate preferences.
We cannot “assign” roommates, but we can help you find someone.
PASSPORT REQUIREMENTS
As early as Summer 2008, the U.S. government will require all of our guests to be in possession of a valid
passport when sailing on any CCL cruise. Because passport regulations are subject to change, we encourage
you to visit www.travel.state.gov for the latest requirements and overseas information before you sail.
What kind of travel documents, visa or passport do I need? The following regulations are currently in effect.
CRUISING - FOR U.S. AND CANADIAN CITIZENS:
Caribbean, Bahamas, Bermuda, Alaska, Mexican Riviera, Or Canada & New England Cruises
You only need proof of citizenship and a government-issued photo I.D. or a valid driver's license with a photo.
Proof of Citizenship examples include: an original or state certified copy of a U.S. or Canadian birth certificate, a
valid or recently expired passport, certificate of naturalization, certificate of citizenship, or a report of your birth
abroad.
The cruise line strongly recommends that all guests travel with a valid passport during their cruise. If you miss
your ship at its scheduled U.S. departure port and need to travel outside the U.S. to meet your ship, or should
you unexpectedly need to depart the ship from a foreign port prior to the end of sailing, a passport would be
required to leave or re-enter the U.S. by air.
AIR TRAVEL - FOR U.S. AND CANADIAN CITIZENS:
For all air travel into the U.S. from Canada or any other international location, you'll need a valid passport.
AIR AND CRUISE TRAVEL - FOR ALL CITIZENS OTHER THAN U.S. OR CANADIAN:
All guests must carry a valid passport (valid at least 6 months from the departure date from the U.S.), and if
necessary, a multiple entry visa is required for entry into the United States (B-2 Visitors Visa), or a visa waiver.
Please be sure to check with the proper agencies and authorities (such as your local immigration office) before
you sail because we can't board you without the proper documents.
FOR ALL CCL GUESTS:
U.S. regulations pertaining to required travel documents are updated frequently. The information provided here is
meant to offer some guidelines for travel, but please note that these details may not be complete. To be sure you
have the latest information, check with your travel professional or the proper authorities (such as your local
immigration office) before your cruise to make sure you have the proper documentation. Cruise refunds may not
be issued if you're denied boarding due to lack of proper documents.
Please cut and paste the websites below to visit the following State Department web pages to become fully
prepared to communicate the new requirements:

to learn how to apply for a passport.

VACATION PROTECTION PLAN

Balcony cabins. These prices are per person. Full coverage details are available upon request and will be sent
with your final documents.
CRUISE TERMINAL
TRANSFERS:
Shuttles from Los Angeles airport
This information has been requested and will be provided at a later date.
What can't I bring onboard?
Passenger is not allowed to bring on board the vessel without the previous written permission of the Carrier any
intoxicating liquors, or beverages, firearms, weapons of any kind, ammunition, explosive substances or any goods
of a dangerous nature, nor animals of any kind, except service or guide animals, provided the passenger notifies
Carrier prior to the cruise of his intention to bring such animal and agrees to take sole responsibility for any
expense, damage, injuries or losses associated with or caused by such animal.
HOW MUCH CASH DO I NEED:
For your convenience, the cruise line uses a cashless system on board. You will find your Guest Cruise Card in
your cabin upon boarding. An imprint of your credit card (Master Card, Visa or American Express) will be taken
on board ship during the first 3 days of the cruise. Check the Daily Program for locations and times. Charges to
this card are put on a credit card of your choice or a cash deposit is required. Once you are aboard this is to
purchase anything you might need aboard ship – soft drinks, alcohol, specialty restaurant meals, golf packages,
gift shop purchases, spa purchases, shore excursions, photographs, and dry cleaning and laundry services,
etc. Alcohol purchased in the gift shop or on shore will be held for you until disembarkation.
WHAT IS THE SMOKING POLICY ABOARD SHIP?
Smoking is allowed in public areas of the ship and in staterooms. There in no smoking in the main dining rooms
and in the show lounge. But note: we have never noticed staterooms smelling smoky as in hotels, nor have any
of our 100s of guests ever complained of this problem. During our dance activities we request our guests honor
our non-smoking policy.
I’M SENSITIVE TO MOTION SICKNESS – WILL I GET SEA-SICK
Today’s Cruise Ships have Vertical Stabilizers. These stabilizers greatly reduce the pitch & roll of the ship. Some
passengers may still experience motion sickness or feel "sea-sick". The symptoms are generally mild nausea and
dizziness (or vertigo). There are a number of over-the-counter as well as prescription medications and non-
pharmaceuticals available to help curb the symptoms of sea-sickness. If you think you may be affected, check
with your doctor.
HOTEL, CAR RENTAL PACKAGES, TRANSPORTATION:
Additional add-on packages are available. Please contact Cathy Paxton of Sundancer Cruises for hotel package
rates, car rental, and transportation transfers. Sundancer will also be organizing some private excursions just for
our group.
DANCES AND WORKSHOPS:
Could you tell me about the Workshops? There will be classes for beginner and intermediate levels. We are less
than 10% of the total number of passengers cruising. So we have REQUESTED all the space necessary for
classes and dances. BUT CCL must consider the needs of other groups and passengers on board cannot
confirm all of our requests till just prior to sailing. As soon as we can confirm space, we’ll publish a schedule!!
What workshops are being taught? Tentative classes will be in Cha Cha, Rumba, Swing, Samba and Salsa. If
time permits, classes in styling and technique and possibly other dances.
Will the workshops be inside or outside? Possibly both. We try to get the largest floors available and preferably
wood.
How are the dances being organized? We are hoping to dance every day. Until the ship releases more
information regarding the floor space available and its entertainment schedule -- we just won't know. We are
checking regularly for updates -- as soon as we know, we will pass it along.
What Should I Pack?
To give you an idea of what to toss into your suitcase, we've got answers to some of your questions like:
Can I wear something casual to dinner?
Do people dress up at night?
Can I wear my swimsuit day and night?
The answer to all the above is "yes" - with Freestyle Cruising, you're pretty much welcome to wear whatever,
whenever. Our philosophy is "resort casual" and with the widest range of dining venues, tons of entertainment
options and bars & lounges, you'll find there are places for your style all over our ships, day and night.
Daytime, it's basically all fine since we know you're probably headed to the pool or out for a fun Shore Excursion.
Casual shorts, jeans, tops and sundresses are welcome everywhere. You can even wear your swimsuit to the
poolside grill or the buffet.
Resort casual dress gets you into every venue at night too. Some people like to add a jacket, or when celebrating
a special occasion, get all decked out. This too is welcome everywhere. And if you're tired from a long fun day
and just want to wear shorts; our buffet is the place for a casual dinner. Some people prefer nice jeans. They're
welcome in many of our restaurants as well, but not in all. It's your vacation on NCL so dress comfortably, and
you'll find a venue that suits your style.
It is usually in the 80s this time of year, with lows in the 60s. Usually shirt sleeves outside are fine. You’ll want to
bring your shorts and your swimsuit! Another suggestion is to bring boating shoes. Many of the guests spend
time sunbathing as well. Also, especially for the ladies – the dining rooms can be cool. We suggest a shawl for
light wrap for your arms for the evening meals.
Sundancer will have two formal nights (men may choose from tuxedos or suits and ladies wear evening or cocktail
dresses)
Sundancer will also advise as to any theme dances as we get closer to the sailing.
This ship has tuxedo rental available.
Are Dance Shoes needed? Yes. Plan to bring your dance shoes and something with a “soft sole” like dance
sneakers would also be recommended. It is also recommended to bring gel inserts or padding for your dance
shoes as this would provide extra cushion.
Since all suitcases are collected the night before we return home, don't forget to bring an overnight bag packed
with a change of clothes, prescriptions and need-to-have items. Thanks to Freestyle Disembarkation, you'll have
time on your final morning on board for breakfast and some last minute sunbathing or even a workout.
Disembarkation usually begins 2 hours after docking.
CABINS:
As to cabins, with our group rates we get a “block” of cabins in different categories. As your deposit is paid, the
ship assigns your cabin number. If you want a cabin category other than what is in our block we can price that for
you as well.
You can view additional information about the ship and ports on CCL’s website:
www.carnival.com
Inside Stateroom – Cat 4A - Riviera Deck
Combines luxury and comfort with value. Two lower beds that convert to a queen, complete with TV and
refrigerator.
Oceanview Stateroom – Cat 6A - Riviera Deck
Two lower beds, picture window.
Balcony Stateroom – Cat 8A - Upper Deck

DANCE ACTIVITIES
As to our private dances, we hire our own DJs who always have a wonderful selection of a variety of music. Our
DJs will be playing a mixture of music at our social dances and taking requests as well.
As to the dance floors, we will not be able to confirm the location of the private dances and workshops with the
ship until after final payment as well. We have requested the largest floor.
What does my cruise fare include?
Your cruise fare entitles you to accommodations, meals and entertainment aboard ship. Certain specialty
restaurants are available with either nominal cover charges or fixed price menus and à la carte pricing in addition
to the standard dining program. Items of a personal nature are not included, such as alcoholic beverages and
soft drinks, spa treatments, indoor pool relaxation areas, certain specialty exercise classes, laundry,
photographs, casino, ship-to-shore phone, email, Internet, fax and Shore Excursions (including all Dive In"
programs). Government taxes and fees are also not included. All of Sundancer’s private social dance parties and
private workshops are included in your price.
What about currency?
You may cash travelers checks at the Reception Desk. Currency exchange, at prevailing rates, is available on
some cruises. Travelers checks and most major credit cards are accepted in the ports we visit. Proper ID is
required when cashing travelers checks. We recommend you carry a small amount of local currency when visiting
foreign ports, although credit cards are commonly accepted in shops and restaurants.
How many suitcases can I bring?
Each person is allowed up to 200 pounds of personal luggage on board. However, if you are traveling by air, ask
the airline if it has different restrictions. Airlines and CCL have limited liability for loss, so be sure all baggage and
personal belongings are properly insured. Suitcases should be securely locked and tagged. You should hand-
carry medication, jewelry or other valuables and important documents.
What about smoking, drinking and gambling on the ship?
We want you to be comfortable on board, so public areas throughout all CCL ships are smoke free. If you smoke
cigarettes, you can do so in your stateroom, on your balcony, in the casino or Cigar Bar (where available). If you
prefer pipes or cigars, you can smoke in the Cigar Bar or designated smoking lounge. Also, you can smoke
cigarettes, pipes and cigars outside on open decks (just not around food venues, sport decks, kids' pool areas
and other designated non-smoking areas).
CCL permits guests between the ages of eighteen (18) and twenty (20) to purchase and personally consume
wine and beer while on CCL ships with the consent of an accompanying parent or legal guardian on the same
sailing once the vessel is outside the US state territorial waters (3 miles out). Complete details and special
consent form are only available onboard at the Reception Desk. *If you want to gamble in our casinos, you must
have a valid ID showing you are 18 years or older. If a guest under the age of 18 wins in the casino and can not
provide proof of age, he or she will not be paid the winnings. There are no casinos on our ships in Hawaii.
* CCL encourages the responsible use of alcohol and accordingly reserves the right to permanently or
temporarily revoke the drinking privileges of any guest who violates CCL's Guest Code of Conduct or who is
deemed a danger to himself, herself or others by vessel management. Continued abuse of alcohol while sailing
and/or violation of CCL's alcohol policy may result in immediate disembarkation.
Will I need an electrical converter?
The current on board is 110 volts AC. However, some high-voltage hair dryers, electric rollers and electric razors
may require a converter.
Are there any pool regulations?
According to United States Public Health (U.S.P.H.) regulations, no diapers of any kind are permitted in the
swimming pools or jacuzzis, including those marketed as "swimmers."
Where can I keep my valuables?
Security envelopes and/or safe deposit boxes are available from the ship's purser at no charge. Most staterooms
and suites have mini-safes. Please note, however, that CCL is not responsible for valuables left in staterooms or
elsewhere on board.
Are visitors allowed on board?
Due to security reasons, unfortunately, no.
What time do I board the ship on embarkation day and in ports of call?
Arrival at the Cruise Terminal:
For your comfort and convenience, we recommend that guests arrive at the cruise terminal no earlier than one
(1) hour prior to the scheduled embarkation time printed on your cruise documents. Because of security
regulations, guests may not be allowed to enter the cruise terminal prior to the scheduled embarkation time and
may want to avoid waiting in potentially inclement weather as the waiting area outside and inside the cruise
terminal may be limited.
Final Boarding Time:
In order to facilitate the embarkation process, guests are requested to complete the online Advance Guest
Registration form at least four (4) days prior to sailing. To comply with new government regulations governing
departure manifests, all guests who have completed their online Advance Guest Registration at least four (4)
days prior to sailing must complete check-in at the cruise terminal and be onboard the ship no later than one (1)
hour prior to the departure time noted on their cruise documents or they will not be permitted to sail. Guests who
have not completed their online Advance Guest Registration form at least four (4) days prior to sailing will be
required to complete check-in at the cruise terminal at least two (2) hours prior and be onboard the ship no later
than one (1) hour prior to the departure time noted on their cruise documents or they will not be permitted to sail.
Any late arriving guests may join the ship at an approved port of call in the scheduled cruise itinerary. Such
guests will be responsible for all applicable fees and travel expenses to that subsequent port of call.
Boarding Time in Ports of Call:
In all ports of call, it is also the guest's responsibility to be back onboard the ship no later than 30 minutes prior to
the ship's scheduled departure time. Please be aware that shipboard time may differ from the port of call and it is
the guest's responsibility to follow the shipboard time. In the event a guest misses the ship, it will be the guest's
responsibility to pay all expenses incurred to rejoin the ship.
What is the Fuel Supplement?
You probably know how much fuel prices have fluctuated in recent years. Because of this price volatility, a Fuel
Supplement based on the NYMEX futures prices for crude oil, is added as part of the Advertised Cruise Fare
Price. The Fuel Supplement is determined as follows:
